For the Freeze Watch, sub-freezing temperatures as low as 32 possible. * WHERE...Chesterfield, Fairfield, Kershaw, Lee, Newberry, Northern Lancaster, and Southern Lancaster Counties. * WHEN...For the Lake Wind Advisory, until 7 PM EST this evening. For the Freeze Watch, from late Thursday night through Friday morning. * IMPACTS...Strong winds and rough waves on area lakes will create hazardous conditions for small craft. In addition, frost and freeze conditions could kill crops, other sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing. Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold. To prevent water pipes from freezing; wrap or drain or allow them to drip slowly. Boaters on area lakes should use extra caution since strong winds and rough waves can overturn small craft.
